I have a couple of tire irons, one is a 6in and the other is a 16in from motion pro. I like the curved ones best see http://www.motionpro.com/tiretools.html for details. I am the one who had all the problems breaking the bead, and ended up cutting the tire off.. since then I have used a 6in c clamp and it worked GREAT I felt pretty stupid seeing as I had that C- clamp the whole time and wasted 3 or more hours wrestling with that damn bead the first time. I bought a third one and I don't regret it for a minute.

Forgot about that! Don't use the irons to put the tire on. Use a rubber mallot and about one part liquid dish washing soap to 10 parts water. -- David Kelly N4HHE, dkelly@... ===================================================================== The human mind ordinarily operates at only ten percent of its capacity -- the rest is overhead for the operating system.

I really like my 16" motion pro tire iron also. I have one of those and two of the shorter ones. I use the 16" curved one to break the bead. -Bryan A12 Tucson

When I was a teenager working in a motorcycle shop, I could dismount most tires with my bare hands and bare feet. Yes, I used to take my shoes off so my toes would fit between the spokes. -- David Kelly N4HHE, dkelly@... ===================================================================== The human mind ordinarily operates at only ten percent of its capacity -- the rest is overhead for the operating system.

Looking high and low in your sig line for an Arkansas address. :) Do any of y'all use Slime or similar products in your tires? Jack Tollett Waltz Across Texas Rally http://www.waltzacrosstexas.org AiaP #1 "Life is too short to live in Dallas."

Never tried that, but I've found that a bare heel will unseat a bead better than a shod one.

But it could gum up your valve core then you won't be able to check your tire pressure therefore you might ride with the wrong amount of air which might cause an accident in which you might die. Bogdan
