air filter smells of gas

It seems that BMW's seat height measurement is totally out to the lunch. The KLR is actually much higher. It is higher than BMW's R1150 GS which they claim has a 33 inch seat height. Riley Montreal A15 Jonathan wrote Related to this question, what is the seat height of a stock KLR? The only reason I am asking is I got a chance to test ride a '02 F650GS Dakar. While installing an IDSII I noticed a gas smell coming from the airbox. I remember someone else wrote about this but I can't find the e-mail. What causes this and will the Supertrapp help stop it since it makes the engine run leaner? Thanks, Tom A14
