Brad, Get the bike. Do the MSF class. Buy good gear. Drive defensively. But get the bike. I've held a licence for over 22 yrs and due to buying homes and raising three daughters etc. i've sometimes gone without a bike. Never regreted getting another, even taking into consideration the occasional spill or close call. Just my 2 cents worth, Steve Pye A7

Brad, don't let fear stop you from enjoyment. OTOH, don't let stupidity hurt you. Awareness is the key to safety. Case in point: I got out of work this morning and was admiring the dirt that still adorned my A10 from my past weekend in the PA dirt. Well, I got to fantasizing about being back in the dirt and completely forgot I was in the city where I am forced to use a lock.... Yup, I tried to take off with the front disc lock in place. Slightly strained ankle and much bruised ego but it was MY fault. If you do choose to ride, do everything that YOU can do to keep yourself safe and realize that no one else on the road gives a damn about anybody not inside their own cage. For penance for my stupidity I went home and gave my bike a sponge bath with simple green. Looks purty again. I hope the shinyness doesn't distract me this morning the way the dirt did yesterday. :^0 dat brooklyn bum _______________________________________________________ Say Bye to Slow Internet! http://www.home.com/xinbox/signup.html

I just heard from a co-worker that Joey Dunlop was killed in a motorcycle accident yesterday in France. I don't follow racing much but one of the few motorcycle races I do follow in The Isle of Man TT. Joey Dunlop dominated the Isle of Man TT for decades, sometimes winning several classes each year. Dunlop was one of TT racing's greatest. See you on the other side mate. Morgan
