looking for 1997 tank bag

I had a tank bag that clipped onto the tank but age denigrated the material and zippers, anyone know of any soft tank bags that clip onto the tank of an early model KLR?

Don't know. The OEM one included a tank bra. IMO, the tank bra, with the bag removed is better than with the bag. I like a magnetic bag over top.

I had a quick lock for one of the sport bikes, great option if you arent leaving it anywhere but it is very easy to steel. Magnetic is way more versitile but suffers the same issue. Straps are a pain in the back side but are more fiddly to remove lessening the walk away with it risk a little.  With regards to use on a KLR I only use straps right now because I use the KLR off road some. Magnetic will fly off too easy and I am real afraid the quick loc will damage the tank. I keep a bunch of stuff in the bag. I am working out the following solution and plan to start work on it just after the holidays. It is expensive but offers an option for the tank I am switching over to so I think it is my best option. So do they make a tail bag/box quick-lock system?  I have a US surplus (night goggle) semi flat alum tail box that could use a release system.  Right now it's screwed tho the middle threaded tail rack. I'm sure there are expensive tail box adapters.  I am not interested in expensive systems. .  
Maybe I should I ask if there are inexpensive tail box quick release systems?  Without the tail box/bag.  Just the release system.
