nklr: land speed record
Thanks for that link Rev. Couple weeks ago during testing one of the other competitors named Bill Warner crashed during a shake down run. he was traveling close to 300 mph when it happened. There's a fantastic story about Bill and his Bonneville legacy in CycleNews last week.

You'll be amazed about what Bill accomplished and his age. Especially in light of the "old guys" thread here in the DSN_KLR650 forum lately. Bill was really connected and ran with the "big dogs" if not leading the pack. I've had the opportunity to attend couple of Bonneville events the past few years. It really is a different bunch of people that are fun to be around. If you get the chance take in a speed week. Coincidentally, the ARMHA motorcycle event is held at Miller Motorsports the weekend after Bonneville so you can make it a double dip destination. Be sure and check out the story in CycleNews. A subscription is N/C. Still one of the better moto publications that came back from the dead a few years ago. Just like when you were a kid, only better!
BTW - 60 and still enjoying the KLR.
