deer accident help?

Post by Norm Keller » Thu Jun 30, 2016 8:15 pm

I friend riding her KLR650 hit a deer outside of Eagle Butte, SD and is in hospital. Her husband is looking for options to store it and his Vstrom as well as looking for a way to inexpensively get the two bikes back to western New York state. Is anyone in the area able to help?

Keep us updated on her progress when you can. And let us know what parts we might send for the bike repairs. Well that's good news . . . I'd suggest you change brake fluid annually, It's like insurance.

deer accident help?

Post by skypilot110 » Thu Jul 14, 2016 8:51 am

Thanks for the update. I have the 08 in North West CT with a torched head waiting to hear if she wants to put it back together. It is in the shed and the Engine is in a box in the garage. It will stay there a while still since nobody has asked to buy it yet. I will break it up if she decides to move on to something else

deer accident help?

I keep a three ring binder on each bike. Service records, receipts, notes and information on modifications are also in the book. It has helped very much when trying to remember what was done, when, and what make was something. As a much more important subject: Jeff Saline and Martin Earl are people whom it is a privilege to know, if only on line. Their efforts and kindness pulled what was a very painful and difficult experience from being out of being far more difficult one. We all like to think that we will step forward when help is needed, but I have to say that I can only hope to begin to measure up to their standard. Liz and Sam are two of the nicest people we know so it was fantastic that they ended up in the hands of such wonderful people. Gushing, I know, but words simply fail. Norm
