seafom & food for thought

Post by mark ward » Fri Dec 05, 2014 7:45 am

Hey Yall
Like the great debate what is worse for you body, (some call a "Temple") Beer or refined sugar & pork etc., (check the top 10 killers in the USA) since people just do not like giving up what they like.
Seafoam is designed to break down (EAT AWAY) and help REMOVE, Petroleum products. (Be it the Carbon build up, or varnish etc etc etc.
So it makes me wonder about Petroleum based parts, SEALS, HOSE'S, DIAPHRAGM! ETC ETC.
ALL Wrenchers, know the old trick for a leaking power-steering pump. ADD BREAK FLUID.
(Pun intended. using Break as in breaking down, instead of brake as in stopping)
But wrencher's also know, Why it stops leaking is because, BRAKE FLUID,  BREAKS DOWN THE SEALS.
So it became the "EVIL USED CAR SALESMANS TRICK", ONLY do it when you plan on SELLING SOON!
And you can NOT say, It's only in there a few minutes, it takes a at least 4 hours to run it threw. ( legally, @ 70mph and under)
Up until NOW, I have used Seafoam as a PMS item.  (PMS U.S. Navy Term, Preventive Maintenance System)
But I have been wondering why, a small Quarter size area near my gas cap looks like it had paint REMOVER, on it.
(I don't like CORN-gas, but do not feel I can "blame" this on it.)
And it hit me what Seafoam is DESIGNED TO DO, BREAK DOWN AND EAT AWAY,...............?
SO I for one, will be using Seafoam A LOT less often
