Connecting either wire to power would be a poor idea but since there is no power present there, that's a moot point. It does speak to disabling the safety switches but this is not a concern if one proceeds as Jeff described. *Notice how I'm attributing responsibility? ;-)   Going from memory which is not great in these cases, there are three contacts on the plastic block and a spring loaded plate which is slid across to make contact. It's quite obvious as to how this switch works which is why you'll likely find that few of us have paid enough attention to remember how it looks.   If you're really stuck, shout and can take mine apart to take photos.   ------ Original Message ------ From: "david zawadzki" To: "KLR Group" DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com>; "Norm Keller" Sent: 2014-11-18 8:00:14 AM Subject: Re: [DSN_KLR650] Re: Fwd:
Gentleman, Thank you for your input. I will put the damn thing back together. Is it just the metal plate? Or is there a tiny little switch that goes inside the plastic housing as well? I found something on the street right by the bike as i was finishing up my work and saved it. I'm guessing it needs to go back in there somehow.  If anybody has any pictures of how its supposed to look please email me. I'm guessing the little switch just goes in there somehow and the plate goes between the handlebar and the plastic housing? I can't find any pics online. Anyways what's the worst that can happen? I'll get a short and burn the computer? Been there and done that. The bike was stolen from me and found. I love this baby!!!! -David On Mon, Nov 17, 2014 at 4:10 PM, 'Norm Keller' normkel32@... If it were a Suzuki one, like a DR650, unplug the leads under the headlight and plug the two harness (male and female) bullet connectors together. No clutch switch but those crappy Suzie switches will leave you walking, IME.   Might be a good time to look at the wiring diagram and plug pin outs I linked so you understand the circuit in the clutch switch. Might help if you have one fail in the bush.
