Post by mark ward » Thu Sep 18, 2014 3:34 pm

I just looked at A "Butler Maps" of the southern Appalachia.
Water proof, almost tear proof BUT MOST OF ALL
it has the Key motorcycle touring routes Marked out (HIGHLIGHTED) in 3 colors, Gold (looks yellow) is BEST, & 2 other colors, great? & good?.
ALSO NOTES,  on the Back, about each area.
They also have several, Rockies areas,  Utah, Texas, etc.
$14.95 + $4 sh.
Something Fred may want to stock/sell

A good read along these lines: Book On the Kindness of Strangers. http://www.amazon.com/The-Kindness-Strangers-Penniless-America-ebook/dp/B004183KI6#   Ron   From: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com Sent: Thursday, September 18, 2014 11:09 AM To: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com Subject: Re: [DSN_KLR650] WOW With all the EVIL I see, some GOOD people still amaze me. (NKLR)

June 2008: I rode my '07 KLR into, Aguila, AZ, on the way back to San Diego from North Dakota/Nicaragua (long story, ask Martin Earl) and peering into a closed motel office window.  A guy walked up and asked if I needed a full motel room or just some place to sleep for the night.  I was ride weary exhausted and just needed to fall asleep and get going in the morning.  He said he could help with that and, he promised, "No banditos".  I followed him to his nearby house as he pointed to the 1950-ish trailer in the dirt backyard with a bunch of kids toys.  "See, no problen, no banditos".  I accepted his offer as there wasn't any other motels in Aguila but, I did have a roomate named Mr. Alejandro (who looked like someone's great-great-great grandfather) in the other bunk.  I walked back to the main street, bought a 12 pack of beer, and upon returning, for the next hour, I, Alejandro and this samaritan, talked of family, traveling, working, food and weather.  I left quietly the next morning.    I'll never forget that.  It reinforces what I already knew and have experienced abroad; the people with the least often give the most.   John KLR Bugeater
