Since the Gen2 rotor is 280 mm versus the 260 mm Gen1, there is some gain there but not likely sufficient for the cost and work to make an adapter. Of course one might buy one of the 320 mm rotor kits with adapter but this has several disadvantages, IMO. Cost is one issue, another being that the large rotor is very exposed to bending damage, and that the adapter only accommodates the stock single piston caliper. Since a custom adapter is needed, it seemed better to adapt to a better, dual piston caliper. Rotor and caliper were acquired. Next step is finally under way since my machinist friend was here and made a drawing of the adapter plate required. Here's a photo of a Gen2 front rotor on my Gen1 front wheel with more to come once the adapter is made. https://www.dropbox.com/s/d1m5o6l9qnb6t12/Gen2%20rotor%20in%20place.jpg?dl=0 Sorry to sound a bit mysterious but need to get some other things worked out and to test before perhaps leading someone on. So far my front brake upgrade looks like it will be about $100.00 including rotor, caliper, master cylinder and (free) adapter plate. If this works out as expected, my friend said that he would be willing to produce a batch of adapters at a price so will be asking about that later. If the 250 Ninja master cylinder (10 mm bore) does not have sufficient displacement, the original (12 mm) master will be reinstalled. I do know that a braided hose is required with the Ninja master on an older hose but one can find these hoses on line for $10.00. The Ninja 250 master is a great deal as it comes complete with reservoir, adjustable dog-leg lever (better shape also), brake light switch, and banjo bolt so a simple bolt on. Price is amazing! http://www.ebay.com/itm/370886528553?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT FWIW, a friend just bought a set of Russell hoses which are labelled "Made in China" so if country of origin is the only criteria, then......

brake hoses from china
A friend found these hoses from measurements:
Rear:
Brake Hose
The price is certainly attractive even though I don't need these for my bike. I might buy a couple just for giggles although don't like to provide safety related parts to others. On a separate vein, re-routing the rear hose on Gen2 to avoid the exposed loop of hose seems a very attractive option. Has anyone else looked at running a Gen2 over the top of the swing arm and into the banjo from the front?Front... 500MM MOTORCYCLE MADE STAINLESS STEEL 2 BRAKE LINES Motorcycle Brakes | Buy Wholesale On Line Direct from China 500MM MOTORCYCLE MADE STAINLESS STEEL...
