As said, I haven't checked this one out. I'd wonder about the 90 hp also as tough to accept that much power from a normally aspirated diesel which the KLR could even support. Not disputing your mileage claim but 120 mpg isn't impossible for a diesel pulling as light a load as a KLR, IMO. I routinely see over 60 mpg and a friend was mentioning that he used to see 75 mpg when riding at 50-55 mph with the traffic. Keep in mind that Americans don't get as good mileage as we do in Canada. This is because we are closer to the oil wells and the gas is diluted by the time you get it....or maybe another reason? ;-) Likely that 120 would translate to around 96 mpg down your way? I thought it was interesting and similar to some other diesel conversions friends have linked to me. I don't see ever doing one and the cost would be prohibitive for me to buy one. A search on the net should turn up several others but didn't keep the links. Off the subject: How are things with you , Robert? Drop me an email some time. motels/klr parking outside d.c.???? (nklr)

Post by mark ward » Sun Aug 17, 2014 3:23 pm

Hey all who know....
Late Sept. I will be meeting up with my cousin (from NC) outside of DC, staying a night to ride the train (??) in and check it out a day (2?) then cross over to Delaware ride the coast line (Ferries, bridges, etc) back down to southern NC. and back to Asheville area.
Looking for cheaper reasonable motels where it safe to leave the bikes and ride into DC. and any other pointers (MUST see's, stays etc) down the coast.
I know, John B. KNOWS the business areas, and maybe more??
1st time in those areas for both of us.
(Except me, a 100 yrs ago, ... U.S. Navy in Norfolk VA)
