the old gal gets a new battery
I've heard the bouncing issue explained as regards strawberries: young strawberries bounce with little damage but as they ripen, the consequences become worse. At 65 I'm likely closer to jam than green fruit.
As for battery charging, IME always, always, always monitor with a voltmeter...always. I made a dedicated power supply for charging batteries and powering a bike for testing purposes. It has both voltmeter and ammeter on the panel. I recommend sticking one of the EBay, LED voltmeters to your charger so you can check easily from time to time. Consider the voltage drop in the charger leads... My power supply has adjustable voltage and current which is super as can limit the current if there is some doubt. It is also very handy to be able to switch the bike on and leave on at normal running voltage for hours while testing. HIH

small tail plate lock box for sale
Hey All Vender Friday, sale of the SENTRY. (miss spelled PUN)
$18. Plus Shipping, (USPO if it sfits box?)
I can TRY!! (still learning) to send an Email pic. as requested, in the mean time you can Google that model / part number, and see pictures of NEW and measurements. 3-5/8 x 11-3/16 x 9-1/4
I had, a Sentry CB-12 lock box, mounted on the back of the KLR, until I got a set of 3 Pelican cases. (used it on a 8000++ mile 2 month trip.)
I LIKED IT, If I did not have the Pelicans on or If I ever remove them I will put another back on.
I have 5 holes drilled in to match the tail end STOCK HOLES, PLUS hang over the rear a few inch's exposing the stock tool kit.
ALSO I welded up a 1/2inch piece of flat bar that stands OFF the back for tie downs Etc.
The shiny chrome lock, faces the FRONT of the bike so not so noticeable that its a lock box.
True it's not real shiny, and you could buy brand new, BUT the holes are PRE drilled, and the Back bar for tie downs is added.
I put a soft case on top of the box when needed.
YOU JUST NEED! The new metric bolts, (I used allen head) Washers and "Silicon" type SEALER for under the washers. Being down Nothing SHOULD get in but we all know how water has it ways.
The Top IS NOT water proof sealed But there is a1/2 inch (+-) lip and I never had an issue.
John B. has seen it in person, (if he remembers) and can say what he thought of it. (good or bad? to him)
