Break-in (523 miles) valve check today... Right intake 0.004" Left intake 0.003" Right exhaust 0.006" Left exhaust 0.005" Both intakes now set at: 0.007" Both exhausts now set at: 0.009" Didn't remove cams, used the lift and tilt method... I have the BMW tools for removing shims on old style 'K' bikes, didn't see any possible way to use them on the KLR650. Since the cams don't have to be completely removed on my KLR650, it's a simple job anyway. (my assortment of 'old style' BMW shims fit!) I spent more time 'mic-ing' shims, (so I could set both the same) than I did doing the valve check and adjustment. In my opinion the toughest part of the job was getting the valve cover off...
