Ay Carumba! If anyone has a useful mathematical model of the cam profile, good luck to them. Maybe one day I'll get around to setting up a cylinder head on a bench and attaching a degree wheel to a cam. Walter Lesnowich replied: [...]

IMO: Valve burning is usually more a function of the valve not seating fully and leaking combustion gas, whether due to insufficient clearance or other less common reasons. "Cooling time" concerns are more a product of extreme valve off-seat time due to radical cam profile. Mister_T
