nklr knee pads

Yo!

I'd like to second Eric's opinion on these, they make my knees happy. However, I'd like to add a pointer: If you have a long inseam (mine is 36"), you might have problems with the knee pad tab popping out of the boots when you bend your knees. I used E6000, a rubber adhesive like Shoe Goo, to glue a strip of Velcro across the bottom of each knee pad, and put the mating piece in the boots. Worked great. Even when I dumped my KLR trying to make a fast, sharp left turn on a rocky fire road (my signature riding style). Sheared two of the plastic "rivet heads" off of the plastic cup, (later filled in with more E6000), but nary a ding on my knee.

Hey, thanks for that info, Brian! I was thinking of getting a Scotts chain guide, with the rollers, but wasn't sure if the KLX model would fit. I was going to make one myself, but some things are just easier to adapt. Hope you have a speedy recovery, Dale (and sorry to hear about the bike, Gary). -- Dr. J.
