I too was quite taken by the Super Sherpa and in fact almost bought one but the dealer wanted $3999. He wouldn't come off that price but would discount a KLR 650 down to $4500. so I bought a KLR for only $500. more. Being an old fart that sometimes finds muscling his 650 around to be a pain in the ass, there are lots of times that I wish I had bought the 250. I cant address your CARB problems from here in Texas but if you can find a left over 2000 or below, they were legal for Calif. Good luck with which ever one you get. Yours, Terry
