da jackass looped it!
Well, I've been practicing li'l baby wheelies (just enough to get over a log
or other obstacle) in preparation for the upcoming dual-sportin' weekends. I
forgot that when I attempted to do my unitrak I had reduced the pre-load on
the shock and couldn't figure out why it was harder to loft the front wheel.
So I REALLY gunned it on the way in to work tonight and that wheel came up
so fast it almost hit me in the chin. Bike went flying, rider went sliding.
No major damage to either. Left knee got skinned and bruised a little, ego
got a bigger bruise. Only damage to bike is a bent rear-brake lever and foot
peg, and a crack on the mounting bracket for the rear master cylinder. JB
weld oughta fix that. The Acerbis Rally Pro handguards saved the front brak
and clutch levers and Tim's 2-up mounting bracket for the Givi tailbox saved
the brake light assembly and license plate (it sticks out about 4 inches
beyond the fender). Saw sparks coming off that thing when the bike skidded
on it. And only one cager paused long enough to ask if I was OK...
Laughing about it now.

Yo Bum, glad you're OK. I heard the ego could be healed by large quantities of beer with friends. Or meditation, the mmmmmmmm... one. There's just one thing I almost allways forget to check when my KLR falls onto its right side; the battery liquid level. A few days later I get problems starting. And THEN I remember.>So I REALLY gunned it on the way in to work tonight and that wheel >came up >so fast it almost hit me in the chin. Bike went flying, rider >went >sliding. >No major damage to either. Left knee got skinned and bruised a little, >ego >got a bigger bruise. On the other hand, bikers always pause and wanna help. I usually stop when I see a cager with engine trouble and ask if they need some tools.>Saw sparks coming off that thing when the bike skidded >on it. And only one cager paused long enough to ask if I was OK... >Laughing about it now.
I get the digest version but my replys need also up to 12 hours to get there. Thought I was the only one to have such a problem. I hope it's not a "system crash" like last time again. Oh, almost forgot! Vodka medicine is best for knee wounds and scratches. I would prescribe 0.5 ml on the spot and 0.5 l down the throat. It prevents infection.
