center and side stands

I had a piece of 3" wide alu that was cut about 1.5 inches longer than my centerstand track for my '95 BMW R11GSA and it worked really well in soft stuff. Also had a 4 x 4" plate with a string tied to it for the side stand. I later welded on a 3/8" plate to the Beemer to pick it up a bit and for a larger footprint. Had to make sure it didn't bump into anything when in the store posistion and offset so I would be dragging it around corners. Andy Jennings, La.
