nklr "beef"....it's what's for dinner
Hey All,
Just before surfing a nice concrete embankment, hooligan style, on
my way back from Walmart, I felt my rear tire go flat. A good Sam picked me
up with a truck, ramp, and tie-downs. On the way back, he told me he'd
ridden a late 70's Honda enduro or the like from Idaho, across Canada, and
down into California. I guess the broken KLR brought back memories!
I decided it was time for new tires anyway, so I I had Apex Sports,
the excellent local dealership, install the D606 and K139's I ordered from
Fred, along with Emgo rim locks and HD tubes. Wow, these tires take some
getting used to on the street. So the next day, someone backs into my
parked bike, and up onto the front tire with their bumper. Well, at least I
got to ride it once on new tires! Straitened the forks enough to make it
home. Called Apex from work. They got me in same day, straightened what
needed it, and had me out the door, for FREE. I guess the box of pastries I
dropped off with the tire change helped.
