sorry robb, that's a classic symptom of lean carburetion. it even has a name, "lean surge". you might try using duct tape to progressively cover part of you airbox intake. that will probably richen the mixture somewhat. if that makes the surge go away, then you might have to get friendly with your carburetor. also possible that that fuel line isn't flowing well for some reason. you could try a new line w/o filter. make sure the filter is facing the right way and gas line isn't kinked awkwardly anywhere. -mark weaver p.s. am i the only guy who got a fuel filter as OEM on his klr?
