evaporative emmision control system

Hello, Can someone tell me the best way to disconnect the Evaporative Emmision Control System. I commute about 140 miles round trip and always top off the tank which I know that i shouldn't. Now my bike is hard to start once it's warmed up. I disconnected the red hose from the gas tank that goes to the return pump and it was fill with gas (not vapor). i just want to get rid of the hole system. thanks for you help in advance, Peter 97' KLR650
