what happens if you drop a strap............bing, bang boom. I always tie my
bike's tires when on trailer. On a big rig like a BMW, I usually use a tie
down on the rear to cut down on the swaying.
Why do I tie the tires to the rail you may ask? Well, many years ago one of
my racing buds, Vic Ostrowski (380 CZ) was heading to the track. Bike was
strapped on as always, that is with the front forks compressed via 2
tiedowns. Somehow one strap let go and the CZ did what became know as the
"Ostrowski Bounce". Bing, bang, boom............very ugly. He raced no
more! Tie the tires to the rail. If a tie down fails, you may get lucky and
keep the bike on the trailer and this is good..
