Subject: [DSN_klr650] Anti-vibration mirror mounts
Has anyone tried using an anti-vibration mirror mount on their KLR? This is
a threaded insert of some type that goes between the mirror and the
handlebar mount. Do they work? I can't remember where I saw them for sale.
My mirrors vibrate pretty good till I hit about 70MPH. Most of my riding is
below 70. My hands are ok; I wear gloves. Thanks for any advice.

I hate to admit it, but I tried those rubber mount things from jc whitney.
They didnt work for me! First of all, they make the mirrors sit up higher...
But they actually vibrated worse on my bike than without them. And I
stripped one out trying to tighten it up. I think they are a waste of money,
they didnt stay on my bike more than 1 hour.
Save your money for something else.

[dsn_klr650] anti-vibration mirror mounts
I sell the Honda mirrors that have the rubber isolators built into them. These work really well for taking out the shakes. BoB Carreras had some of the cheap mirror mounts you asked about when he came to the Utah Get-Together a couple of years ago and when he got here they fell apart. Gel Grips work well for damping the vibration on your hands. Fred

Put the bike on the 4" rails and I think you'll find it's no worries. If you're worried, tie the wheels on.
