I left my bracket off as well, as I was on my way to the bike shop for a
morning appointment when I discovered the problem. Oops, no test ride after
the install the night before. Doh!

ps-my Moose touches the engine case on the left side, have heard this could
cause probs, looks to me like a stronger arrangement. Opinions?

Happened to me as well. I took my dremel tool and carved what
looks like a 7 out of the bracket (leaving an opening where shifter
hits frame). I do believe one other lister moved his shifter as well
but didn't like the position so ground his bracket as I did.

Same thing here. I didn't want to raise the shift lever as it's a little too
high already. Looked at carving up the left rear attachment bracket, and
came
to the conclusion there wouldn't be much left anyway, so I did the lazy
thing, and simply left it off! It's been working just fine so far. Anyone
else?
