I have heard of people with other bikes put spacers between the shield and fairing for a similar affect. From what I've heard it works pretty good. My assumption, and maybe > Chris Krok (the windtunnel guy) can verify this, is that the air > moving through this slot and up the back of the screen re-directs or > cancels the turbulence from the air spilling around the fairing.

confused with service manuals
I asked dealer to order manuals for 2000 KLR650. I had the part
numbers 99924-1050-01 & 99924-1080-55 (taken from www.kawasaki.com
site) but the dealer said that the numbers must be USA and are not
used in Canada. What I have received is "89-92 Tengai Motorcycle
Service Manual" Part No. 99924-1113-03 and "95 KLR650 Motorcycle
Service Manual Supplement" Part No.99924-1186-51. In the forward in
Supplement it states supplement to be used in conjuction with
KL600B/KL500B Service Manual P/N 99924-1113-02. I am totally confused
as to what I need for this 2000 machine. Your help would be
appreciated.
