( KLR riders are really friendly and generous. I doubt you'd see a BMW
GS rider lend theirs out to anyone! So why are we so willing? )
This may relate to how many bikes that have been messed up by friends
and no money offered to pay for damages. I'm VERY particular of who gets
on my bikes ( no matter what make or how much it cost me) and MORE SO on
Who's bike I do check rides on.
This comes from 41 years of motorcycling and surviving to tell about
it. ;p

John,
Your first message was sent directly to me & not the list. I
replied to the message from home. I'm replying to this message
from the egroups website. When I hit "reply" from your egroups
message, the default is to mail "TO" the message's sender & not
the list. By clicking on the down arrow at the right of the
sender's email address, you have the option of sending to the
list or the sender.
When I respond to a mesaage, I first select DSN_KLR as the
recipient. Before I send the message, I 'copy' the message & my
reply (using CTRL+c on the complete message text & reply). Then
I send the message to the list. Next I hit REPLY again, this time
selecting the (default) sender. I delete the original message
text and PASTE the copied message & my reply. Now I can send my
reply directly to the original poster only. I assume that the
rest of list is like me, in that I receive my messages batched in
DIGEST mode (how presumptuous of me!). I do this so that the
sender will get a 'personalized' reply that won't get lost in the
25 messages in DIGEST mode. No-one has (yet) complained that
they're getting 2 responses from me.
Many (lazy?) listers do not delete the message trailers that are
attached at the end of messages by email servers or egroups when
they respond to messages. SHAME, SHAME, SHAME
You'll notice the "NKLR" in the SUBJECT line of this message.
This is done to allow listers who filter their email to scan for
& ignore or trash messages that aren't related to KLRs
specifically. You'll soon find out that there is a wide variety
of subjects on our list.
Don't overlook the SEARCH feature to look for specific topics of
interest. Be sure to check out the FILES, LINKS, & other options
available at the website.
Hope this helps & welcome to the list.

ps: Canuks are more than welcome on the list. [G!] eh?
