Yeah, I'm not thrilled with my "local" bike shop, either. (Eric's in
Pasadena.) They're only a couple of blocks away, but the guy has a real
snooty attitude. Maybe because he's a 'Berg and KTM dealer?

I
bought a tire for my street bike there, and even though I was surprised
he had the exact model and size I wanted in stock, it was $20 more than
the Chapparral catalog, and he still charged me $8 for spin balancing (I
mounted it myself). A friend of mine at work also went there for a
piece of tubing, and said that she and others have also found them to be
a**holes. One of our profs was going to buy a bike there, but decided
not to because of their attitude. On the other hand, Temple City
Powersports is about a 20-30 minute drive, but as long as Mongo is
behind the counter (I'm pretty sure that's his name, and he's usually
there), he's friendly, remembers your name, etc. So, I guess I'll be
going there for more immediate needs, and ordering everything else.

Now, wait just a second. Knot, how tall are you? And what is the the
reference time for driving over Knot? 1 second?
ha ha! I slay me.
