[dsn_klr650] ?'s for the klr 250 riders (yes, we exist ....)

Post by Kurt Simpson » Mon Jul 31, 2000 10:16 am

I don't think you'll find much available. You'll have to do the pioneering yourself. Start by getting the shock off and measuring the ID, OD, and length of the shock. Then make friends with a mechanic or find a rep who will compare figures with you from Eibach, Race Tech, Progressive or others. We were in the same boat just a few months ago with the DR650, we started nosing around and now we have a Progressive and several Eibach springs to choose from...   Best of luck,   Kurt

All,   I've got a 99 KLR 250 and can't seem to find the helmet lock ... its shown in the manual but doesn't appear to exist on the bike ... anyone have a similar situation?   Also, anyone know of an aftermarket rear spring for the 250? I'm 6'3 and 220 and have the preload cranked all the way, and probobly could use a stiffer spring ....   finally, anyone have any good modifications to KLR 250's they have done?? I'd like to put together a web page specific to the 250 and wonder if there is even enough material or persons with knowledge of 250 specific mods. For the record, I havn't done any mods to my bike (yet) but am interested in others experiences ..   Thanks!Visit the KLR650 archives at http://www.listquest.com/lq/search.html?ln=klr650 Support Dual Sport News... dsneditor@... they are to guard against foreign object penetration. to prevent pinch flats, you need more air, or one of the fancy new tires with spongy bits just above the bead that pad the rim a little to make it less likely to pinch the tubes under compression. mw
