trip info needed

Post by johnsilv@enoreo.on.ca » Tue Jul 25, 2000 7:50 am

Hello All, Some friends and I are planning a trip to Vermont in late August. Our plan is to rent a cabin for three or four days and then explore some backroads. Does anyone out there know of cabins for rent in the area? What part of Vermont would be the best place to look? What are some good backroads in the Vermont/New Hampshire area? I am the only one in the group blessed with a KLR, so paved roads only please. Thanks in advance, John in Toronto A11

>Ok how are you all doing 600 miles plus without your butts being >sore??
Take the pain! TAKE THE PAIN!!! Seriously, it's something you need to get used to. At first I was ready to get off the bike after just 35 kms (bout 20 miles) but now that I've gotten lots of time in the saddle, a 600 mile day is nothing. Last month I did 5400 kms in just 4 1/2 days, that averages 725 miles per day. I WAS sore then ;) I found that both the bikes' seat and my rear had to break into each other. Plus, the KLR is blessed with a big fairly flat seat so you can really move around on it. I found that on my big ride by the end of the day I was moving around constantly to keep to hot spots down to a minimum. I can't really believe there is a motorcycle seat out there that will allow a 600 mile day without it letting you know you sat on a motorcycle for 600 miles. Some are probably pretty darned good, but even sitting in a car seat for 600 miles will give you a hot spot or two.
