choke stuck, rider covered with cable lube

Amigos, I have a stuck enrichener apparently, can't get any movement out of the cable...have no manual....does anyone have a description of what's in there, I guess I'll have to take off the tank and get to the left side of the carb and see what's up. It does seem to be stuck, at about enough "enrich to make the motor run at about 2200-2500 rpm. I did search the archives, but didn't find much. I already took off the control mechanism, and made sure there was plenty of lube running down the cable. Thanks.
