Several years ago, I rode my KZ650 into the cafeteria of the Philadelpia high school where I taught Chemistry. The kids were amused to say the least... Mark _______________ Reminds me of the time I did a lap around the office bull-pen (5 years ago) on my '87 1100 shadow. Needless to say my exit was faster than my entrance... after I paused for a picture of course. =) I guess they weren't too pissed... I'm still employed. Arne

DROVE to work today for the first time in almost 2 months. Didn't take long to remember why it's been so long... I think this Ride To Work thing deserves some attention. As I'm a mere lister and not "connected", who can get the ball rolling on this? I think it would be an EXCELLENT concept for the AMA (Motorcycle, not Medical) to promote motorcycling. If your newspaper carries "That's Jake", the Friday one was great. Jake is stuck in traffic among a bunch of trucks and SUV's all with "4X4" and "OFF-ROAD" plastered all over them (a'la Z-71). He makes the observation, "If all these off-road vehicles would stay off the road, we wouldn't have this problem." My experience? A minor fender-bender on Friday's escape from town caused about a 2 mile backup in 100 degree heat. As I rode down the recently mowed median enjoying an unexpected off-road ride, I had to cross stopped traffic to get off at my turn. A woman fitting many sterotypes (in a 10 mpg SUV and on a cell phone) rolled down her (power) window and yelled "You are only doing that because you are on a motorcycle!" My reply? "Yea? Well you're only stuck sitting there because you are in that fat-assed Suburban!" hahahahahahaha!!!!!! Lamar A14 (home in less than 30 minutes)
