ride to work

Post by Anton Perdices » Wed Jul 19, 2000 8:56 am

Folks, Sad to say I didn't see to many bikes on the road to work today. Only one guy on a Harley wearing shorts and a tank top so I don't really think he was going to work or I could be wrong. Anyway, I have been commuting full time with my bike now. I guess my car is getting very jealous sitting in the parking lot rotting away. Hopefully this new organization will work in promoting the use of motorcycles so we will see a lot more of them on the road. Currently at my work there are about 5 - 6 different bikes I see from time to time on the lot. Not much being that the population of our company is about 800. There is this one fellow who rides quite frequently but I didn't see his bike today. Interesting thing is he is riding the SV650 S. A co-worker of mine said he got it from a dealer in Chicago. When I first saw it I thought cool, Suzuki is now selling it here but then when I got a close look I realized that the guages were metric. Anyway, happy riding to everyone today and be safe out there. Anton Perdices Information Services Nortel Networks telephone: 954 851-8753 (ESN 228) fax: 954 851-8499 (ESN 228) e-mail: perdicea@...

gps - egtrex?

How about a Garmin GPS 12XL? It runs about $260. We have one at work that tends to get pretty flogged and never have any probs with it. FWIW, all Canadian military Search and Rescue personnel have been issued them. 12 channel parallel, 500 waypoints, backtrack, 24hr battery life, etc. With a cable, you can even upgrade the software from Garmin. Check them out at http://garmin.com/. If you're interested, I believe Cycoactive sells mounts for the 12XL as well. Cheers, D. GBG eh14
