Don't over look the benefits of a mushy suspension. Most everyone here will tell you to go with the springs. I like the soft suspension but I ride mostly on the street. My favorite mod was Happy Trails Original racks and Ortleib dry bags saddlebags from the Rider Warehouse. Don't overlook the benefits of a quiet exahst system. hey im back!!!

hello everyone! i unsubed from the list a few months ago to do a ride from boston to seattle on the klr. i was hoping to stop by moab for the rally but things didnt work out that way. anyway the 6 week trip was great. i went with my friend who has a 99 f650, and im proud to say that the klr outperformed the bmw in almost every way (acceleration, fuel economy, dirt handling). some highlights of the trip are as follows: it rained for the 1st 4 days almost straight. i found out that most of my well used gear is not waterproof 100%. we did a 36 hour ride from PA to middle of kansas. that really sucked and messed up the internal clocks. in denver the f650's rear bearing burnt out and we had to wait for 3 days to get new ones. once in OR, it started raining again. in washington st i ran off a muddy dirt road into a deep ditch. we had to go get a guy in a pickup to help us drag the bike out. luckly the bike still ran and i was not seriously hurt. on the way back thru canada we went to a harley rally in saskatawan. that was so cool. we stuck out like sore thumbs but were treated very well, and won the longest rider award. made it back with little more to report other than it rained more than it didnt rain. but overall the trip was great. so now im back in boston working and getting things back together after nearly a year on the road. one trip to guatamala and then this short one to seatle and canada. but ive been having some trouble with the klr. i will write a seperate email detailing the problems and hopefully someone out there has an idea of what might be wrong. ok its good to be back! dan shaw __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
