new battery charge duration

Post by monahanwb@yahoo.com » Wed Jul 19, 2000 4:58 pm

I got a new battery in the mail (Thanks, Fred). I am going to take it home and fill it with acid, then put it on my one amp charger. How long should I put in on the charger? Batty Bill

Eric, Congrats on the girl find. I found mine, and married her 17 years ago and now have a whole family of dual sporters! If your new friend is experienced enough to handle an old horse like the Yamaha 500 (you didn't say but I assume it is an "XT" or "TT" 500 single four stroke)she will definately not be happy with anything less than a lowered KLR. My wife is 5'6" 120lbs and has ridden my non-lowered (but with standard corbin seat) KLR sucessfully on the road. BTW if this really is an "XT" or "TT" 500 does your friend kick start it by herself? If so, you have found a true WOMAN of the first order of dirt riders, don't let her get away! "rode to work" together today. Her brother lets her ride his 1978 Yamaha 500 ...
