dead klr battery today
Bill,
Check out http://www.yuasabatteries.com/consumer.htm
for info on "breaking in" new batteries & other tips.
Most riders don't know that there are specific setup
procedures to maximize battery performance & life. I
fill new batteries 1/8" above the top fluid line & let
the new battery stabilize for 1/2 to 1 hour before giving
the new battery it's initial setup charge. FWIW, my
1-amp trickle charger only charges at 0.4 amps (& 13.75
volts) so I charge my new batteries for 8 - 12 hours
before installing it. It is NOT OK to let your bike's
charging system do this for you. Be sure to wear your
religious (hole-y) clothing & safety glasses when filling
your battery.
