[dsn_klr650] wires with no connection under the front fairing

>>Does anyone know what the brown/white and black/yellow wires inside >>the front fairing, which do not connect to anything, are for. >> >>They do not show on the wiring diagram for my '99 but do show in the >>workshop manual for the '00. They not connect to anything in the >>diagram either. >> > >Those are auxiliary wires, available to plug anything you care to into >them. Some use them for GPS, some for Heated grips or heated vests or >gloves. >You can use them to connect a 12V plug to them, like a cig lighter plug, >since many peripherals are adapted to plug into a car's cig lighter. >
...but are they heavy enough to support heavy amperage, like a heated vest or aux. lighting? Better keep the amperage low for a direct connect to those wires, or better yet, connect a direct line to the battery via a solenoid off these conductors. --- Rev.
