Subject: [DSN_klr650] New 2nd generation Big Gun exhaust installed
Hey folks, I just installed a 2nd generation Big Gun on my KLR last night.
Here are my observations so far.
Didn't know you were making the switch. Did they give you a discount as a
return customer? =)
Tell me again what the problem was with the original, and yes - pictures,
pictures, pictures...

[dsn_klr650] new 2nd generation big gun exhaust installed
Stu,
Got some questions for ya Stu.....
Why the new one?
Think it'll compare in longevity?
As it does its job, does it have continuous flow,
or some 90deg. stops...like the supertrapp?
Can you use the silencer-spark arrestor independently?
Is the FS Approval stamped in it yet? Thanks Bro Tob

I hope for your sake that you are not desperate enough to pay $800 for a
little tush! And yes, she is as gratifying in more ways than I can count:
both the KLR and my wife!

[dsn_klr650] new 2nd generation big gun exhaust installed
Stu,
Got some questions for ya Stu.....
I have a Dremel and a polishing kit, and I like beer. Therefore my old one got polished and looked really cool until I started it up and it blued in a real mottled, crappy looking sort of way. I sent the headpipe in to Big Gun to have it ceramic coated to cover up the blems I put in it, and also showed them my canister, which was semi-beat up. Big Gun explained that I had the "old-style", and made me a super smokin' deal...>Why the new one?
I think this will be even better. All the pipe is the same, clean welds and very sturdy. The can has Allen head fasteners instead of the hex head sheet metal screws holding the end caps on, also the end cap looks to be a sturdy one-piece arrangement, instead of the original design. The Spark arrestor tailpipe I.D. is smaller on this model than the original, race core looks the same size as the old one, I think it is 2 1/8".>Think it'll compare in longevity?
Smooooth. Looks like it flows really clean, no harsh bends.>As it does its job, does it have continuous flow, >or some 90deg. stops...like the supertrapp?
I am not sure, but I think so .. I will eyeball it tonight and get back to ya on that one..>Can you use the silencer-spark arrestor independently?
Same answer as above.>Is the FS Approval stamped in it yet?
De nada mi amigo. CA Stu.>Thanks Bro Tob
