Old Suzuki GS electrical systems are notoriously crappy, which is why GS owners drink warm beer. Oh, wait, wrong subject. Anyway, the GS web page at http://www.gsresources.com/tech.info.html has info on testing electrical systems which should be transferrable to any modern bike. One of the items is a generic procedure written by Ritzo at Electrex. Come to think of it, we have a broad enough audience here that some people might actually get this joke, or even have already heard it... My father used to own a 1970 Jag XKE, and an MGA, and he was the only one I thought I could tell it to. Anyway, it's: Q: Why do the British drink warm beer? A: Because Lucas makes their refrigerators, too! (No sleight against Britts intended, of course.) C -- Dr. J.
