I am in the process of installing my Electrex high wattage stator and regulator. Installation was going pretty straight forward until I came to the rubber grommets that seal the stator wires into the case. None are provide by Electrex and I refuse to recycle the old grommets because this requires cuttling the wires of the original (perfectly good) stator. Anybody have an idea as to what I can substitute for those 2 rubber grommets that wrap the 5 stator wires? Thanks in advance. Regards, -svt-

Steven, You can make your own gromets using (high-temp) silicone seal or you can buy some oversized grommets at an auto or electronics parts store & trim them to size. Whichever approach you take, make sure that the custom grommets are weather tight & don't allow "stuff" to get into the alternator by making the grommets slightly oversized.
