I have noticed that cage drivers don't seem to be able to see me lately.
Every so often I seem to go into stealth mode. Not just on the bike but in
any mode of transportation. All of the usual hazzards on the bike start to
appear when driving the van or walking. The usual bike hazzards become much
worse than usual on the bike. Since Friday and through an 800 mile round
trip this weekend I cannot count the number of times I have been forced to
take extreme action to avoid accidents. I even had to thread my way through
a gap between an oncomming cage and a Highway Patrol cruiser pulling out of
a blind driveway without looking. Then the idiot CHP forces me onto the
shoulder when he passed me. After he got past, he turned on his emergency
lights.
From past experience I know that all I can do is pay very close attention
and wait for the stealth mode to pass. Too bad I can't turn it on and off at
will!
