(was) nklr defensive driving techniques

I've had an MZ Mastiff for around 3 months now, and the bike is an absolute blast. It's more of a comparison to a Duke, as it's a super motard bike as well. How would I compare it to a Duke: it's not as powerful out of the box, but can be made far more powerful by jetting & pipe. Also, there's a carb kit and piston available that will make it flat out smoke a Duke. It handles better than a Duke- quicker steering and a longer suspension travel. The front forks are HUGE and the rear shock is top notch. A Mastiff is geared much lower than a Duke, so it accelerates faster, but the Duke will pull away at or near redline. The front brake is great, but the Duke's front brake wins hands-down over it. One big thing that the Mastiff completely outclasses the Duke in is smoothness. The Duke's motor (at least the 3 examples I have tried) is one jack-hammer like affair. My hands felt 3X oversize after I've ridden a Duke for any length of time.
