Good point. I was assuming that the bike was previously running pretty lean for emissions, and possibly leaner from an aftermarket pipe, though that wasn't specified. You'd actually lose engine power going too rich, and would have to open the throttle even more.

Ah, they've got no reason to complain anyway, since Harley hasn't made a dirt bike since the '70s. I'm not sure if ATK makes a DOT-legal model, either. Of course, same could be said for your crotch rocket. Even if a Buell can run with a rice- or pasta-burning V-twin sportbike (and I don't know that they can), it's still a totally different form of power delivery than a 4-cyl. Sheesh. These guys have no appreciation for function-based form. Chris (who took a long weekend and is having a reeeeeeeeeally hard time getting back into the work groove today.)
