Obviously, I am prepared to get some looks. I figure not any more looks
than my nephew on his '82 250 honda street bike. >>
I've been to Sturgis a number of times and never on a Harley, first in the
early 70's before it became a Harley event. Never had a problem. The Black
Hills offers some great riding and scenery.
I've been through your home town of Chaska many times, I'm a Minnesota
native and the folks who own Sport Wheels just south of you on HWY 169 are
old friends.

[dsn_klr650] nklr outrunnin'
When I used to work in OHV in El Centro, we used to ride quads along the border
and sometimes would remove the agency logos off of our 4X4s to get the Border
Patrol bent out of shape. They would come out of nowhere because their vehicle
sensors had registered "a hit" and they saw an OHV or a 4X4 northbound in to the
US. Throw in some eratic driving (sudden turns, rapid acceleration) and that's
about as much fun you can have in 110 degree heat.
