Well, I was working on my bike last night putting on new grips and
just playing around. I thought it was a bit difficult to get past the
smog pump to adjust the rear shock (hows that for an excuse) so I
removed it (the pump, not the shock). Then I decided to remove the
canister. So here I am with all this extra stuff laying around - I
plugged the vacuum port and both lines coming out of the fuel tank -
start the bike and everything seems to be working.
Start up this morning to go to work and... oops 15 miles down the
road it sputters and quits. Aww, shucks - I open the tank and hit the
starter and zoooommm. So, I need to vent the cap. It looks simple but
I wanted to check with you guys first. Looks like I have two holes
going into the tank from the cap and one hole in the brass ring to
the outside so I am assuming kawasaki just blocked the vent inside
the cap and I can unscrew the cap and remove the plug.....
