I`m sorry, I misunderstood, but while I agree with you somewhat in
theory, I`m personally going to wait and see what happens. I`ve seen and
heard of too many high mileage pre-96 KLR`s to go so far as to start
replacing parts in my engine yet. I do have an A9, and when I had my covers
off in Feb., everything was still looking good, with over 30K miles so far.
I also borescoped my cylinder and lower case, and there is no excessive wear
that I can detect.
I don`t blame you though. I`m sure Eldon is correct in his evaluation of
the pre-96 engine, I`m just curious to see how many miles I can get without
major work.
