I do/did similar things in my 600 during long hauls. Headwinds really kill the range so a good crouch can extend range in these conditions. So can tailgating a nice big truck but if I get close enough there is no airflow through the radiators. "Tractor Beam" I call it. Owners of 600s are slightly better off for alternate postures. When I load up the luggage on the pillion seat, I can lean back on the Gearsack and park my legs up on top of the radiator air scoops for a very comfy change. If I ever get around to fitting a throttle lock, I could sit like this and ride no-hands.
