I'm very pleased with the Larry R, ( or somebody) Progressive spring installed around the stock shock. I paid $90 including shipping. Got it from Fred. Hey Slide, Thanks..... I'm finishing up Stage Two of Da Bomb's resurrection tonight, but I think I'll stay up extra late to find the problem on Daryl's bike as well. The bike is a 97, w/ 3800 miles on it. We removed the tensioner to do the valve job at 3400 miles, we also did the balancer chain tightener. I'm not aware of the part upgrade... in the archives I suppose. I'll double check the balancer adjustment as well, but it didn't sound as if it was coming from that chain. It sounded as if it was directly behind the cam chain tensioner. I'll perhaps dig out my stethescope to confirm this but I'll spent more time looking for that than I could rebuild the top end, and that's waiting for parts as well. Oh well... I'll figure it out and post comments if they are noteworthy.
