sigma sport on a klr

Post by Mark Wilson » Sun Jun 11, 2000 9:57 pm

Hi everybody, last week, I got the sigma sport from rider warehouse. And I just barely had time to modify it to work on the KLR for a 4 day riding/camping trip. I rode over 600 miles, and it works fine. I had to add about 2-3 feet of extra wire going to the sensor to make it work. And the magnet that came with it wouldnt work with motorcycle spokes, so I went to Radio Shack and bought a pack of 1/2 in dia. magnets. They were less than $2. I used a small strip of duct tape to secure it to the spokes. And I put the sensor on the speedo cable. I was in a hurry to get it on and working, and I might go back and make it look better. I have pictures of this setup if you want to see it, I can send them to you. It is neat to have a clock and extra odometer. The speedo on the sigma reads 4 mph faster than the KLR speedo at 55 mph. It has the speed readout, trip distance, clock, odometer, riding time, max speed, average speed, and comparison. I like it.
