Yep, you hit it right on the head there. Try using Liquid Wrench and having it seep down the cable sheath. If you see any rusty gunk come out the other end, get a new cable, and keep the old cable as a spare. I always take my new cables and lube them with chain wax, although it is really tedious getting the chain wax to seep down the full length of the cable, even with a spray attachment for doing cables. Hi Dash,
I got curious after my post to you yesterday so I removed my side panel and
sure enough, my muffler to s-pipe connection is leaking. The info you
learned from S-trapp was great. I sent them an e-mail this morning and
described my problem.
It will be interesting to see if they will respond. If not, I will call
them next week. They really do seem to have a Q/C problem.
