[dsn_klr650] trapp ids2

Post by Jim & Shannon Morehead » Fri Jun 09, 2000 2:51 pm

Dash, I just went through the same thing with my IDS2. I think your idea of a tailpipe expander on the outlet of the S-pipe is a good one. I was wishing for one when installing my system. I puzzled over the "reuse the stock gasket" instruction too. It doesn't fit anywhere on the new system. One of our fellow listers, sorry I don't remember who, had the same problem. He fixed his muffler to S-pipe leak with a liberal dousing of high temp RTV. I followed his lead and it seems to be working out well with no obvious leaks. I used Permatex brand high temp RTV, the red stuff. I've done several mods to my A13 lately. I have been to busy, (read lazy), to post all the details to the list. The info is probably old news to some listers, but I think some of the things I found will raise a few eyebrows. Let me know i the tailpipe expander works or if you decide to go with RTV. Good luck. Jim

fork torque

Post by InWoods13@aol.com » Fri Jun 09, 2000 7:31 pm

Finally have lowering links in hand and going to install them on Sunday. The instructions they came with, state to torque the bolts on the links to 70 ft pds. Sound right? No idea what the torque values are for the bolts on the fork clamps. Help! Thanks in advance. Scott A14 "Thunderdog" Sorrento
